Air cooled lighting, in addition to reflective sheeting, can maximise yield. The air cooling allows plants to grow closer to the light and therefore increasing efficiency. The sheeting reflects otherwise wasted lighting back into the growing area. (WEEE)

The hole in the top of the reflector allows hot air to optionally be extracted with 75mm diameter ducting. Two, four, six or eight reflectors can be cooled by one fan, via the use of a spigot manifold. A spigot is simply a metal can with smaller side vents, such as would be used in an air conditioning system.

When starting a hydroponic system, the hole in the reflector can be ignored. This allows the ducting, fans and optional filters to be retro fitted to the system as experience and budget allows. Retro fitting is cheaper than replacing perfectly functional reflectors. Please consider obtaining air cooled reflectors before you proceed.
