Having a good, healthy growing environment for your plants is of paramount importance. At Esoteric Hydroponics, we can offer advice on all ventilation and environmental control requirements. Visit our shop or contact us. Good air circulation is an important factor in any growing environment. An extractor fan is required to bring fresh air from the outside, into the growroom and another extractor fan is needed to remove the stale air. On some occasions, only the one extractor might be used to extract stale air from the growroom and the fresh air is replenished through vents in doors, windows and walls.
An adequate supply of CO2 in the growing environment is probably the main reason why an extractor is a requirement. Plants will quickly use all available CO2 in an enclosed environment, which could lead to slow growth of plants. Our range of extractor fans and environmental control equipment will ensure that you get the best results everytime.
The RVK range of fans made in Germany by LTI are quiet and powerful. They are also ideal for connecting to our range of carbon filters. The LTI extractor fans come fully recommended. If you are not sure what size extractor fan to use, it's easy to work out. Simply calculate the volume of the growing environment to the nearest cubic metre. This is done by multiplying:
Length × Width × Height = Volume of your room in cubic metres (m3)
and then multiply the answer by 20. Ideally, air needs to be replaced every three minutes (or twenty times an hour). Therefore, just multiply the volume of your growroom by 20. Measure the height, width and length of your room before contacting Esoteric Hydroponics. For example, a room of 3 metres × 4 metres × 2.5 metres high = 30m3 and 30m3 × 20 changes per hour = 600m3 per hour. Once this has been calculated, you can select the correct fan. Combinations of different fans can be used.
Please contact us or visit our shop if you are in any way unsure or need clarification of which size of fan to choose - it's important to get the ventilation right.
Spigots allow the air flow of multiple ducts to be combined into one fan. The desired effect is to draw hot air away from the air cooled lights. You require 75mm ducting from each air cooled reflector to your spigot. The spigot can be attached to the appropriate fan directly or via larger ducting.
These are the best carbon filters around. Unwanted odours can be a problem for indoor gardeners. Whether you are growing peppers, strawberries or your favourite herbs, carbon filters will remove any odours that come from your crop. Carbon filters work using activated granules of charcoal by which odours are extracted through the fans. Discover more about carbon filters.
Installing a carbon filter is easy and takes just a few moments. Usually, the activated charcoal in your carbon filter will last for a minimum of 12 months. Carbon filters are an essential accessory if you are concerned about unwanted odours. Full instructions supplied with every carbon filter.
